The need to create has been a constant throughout my life. Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio I was endlessly creating. Whether it was drawing, painting, or sculpting, if it was artistic I was doing it. That drive to create was there while earning my BA in Visual Studies at Western Kentucky University, and continues now as I live in Denver, Colorado.
My work is an experimentation of color. I am influenced by the playfulness of light, and the color palettes found in everyday objects. Contrary to the clothes I wear, I don't typically paint with neutrals, and have to make a conscious effort to include them while creating. My work leans more to the bold and bright approach. And while I find happiness in layering fun colors on top of each other, I also enjoy the simplicity that comes from a quick brush stroke, an empty space, or a simple shape.
I am constantly experimenting with new subject matter, processes, and mediums. My work is ever evolving and changing.
